As a volunteer, you will be meeting and greeting clients and professionals who are collecting their gift parcels and people who come to our warehouse to generously drop off their donations. You will be involved in every step of supplying our clients with the items they need, from sorting through the donations, re-stocking our shelving, sourcing business support and creating bespoke gift packages to change a child’s life. Baby Basics MK is a fast-paced environment, and the role may involve lifting and moving of items.
You will be part of a team who are launching new projects and services to fight child poverty.
We have vacancies on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. Our sessions run from 9am to 1pm. If you are interested in finding out more, please message us.

Each year we give out Christmas hampers to families in most need in our area. We are expecting to support a record number of children this year due to the cost of living crisis.
We are looking for sewers who would be interested in joining our at home sewing team to create bags suitable for our Christmas gifts to go in.

Here are two of our younger Baby Basics MK supporters…they heard that we were running extremely low on winter coats, to the point where we can’t supply some ages with any outer wear, and took it upon themselves to buy a new winter coat each to donate to us. They were so upset at the thought of a child going to school without a coat and not being warm and dry. At the beginning of the year the National Planning Team (Route Services) at Network Rail approached us to see how they, as a team, could help us on a regular basis. Following a few meetings we created a bespoke Amazon Wishlist just for them. The team then committed to purchasing one item each from the list each pay day. To date their generosity has helped 1 in 5 of the children that we support each month. This shows that just a small, regular contribution makes a huge difference. This week marks Maternal Mental Health Awareness week, a week dedicated to talking about mental health issues during and after pregnancy. Around 20% of women experience perinatal mental illness but few seek help due to the perceived stigma. Peer support can play a huge role in helping remove barriers and opening up conversation, so you can be seen, heard and supported. With that in mind we would like to know whether you would like to see our FREE baby group return? We trialled a baby group in Kings Community Centre, Wolverton where we provided a space for mums to talk and relax whilst their baby/child played, and offered support services.
